History of this Blazer:

William E. Weiss, a 21-year-old graduate of the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy (1900), owned a formula for a patent medicine called Neuralgine.

With a high school friend, A. H. Diebold, of Canton, Ohio, Weiss formed a partnership to peddle the medicine within horse-and-buggy range of Wheeling, Ohio.

From that beginning has grown the Sterling Drug Company, the world's largest manufacturer of proprietary remedies. It operates over 50 plants and over 100 sales, service and branch offices throughout the world. Eighty-seven countries are served by Sterling and its subsidiaries.

In 1942, when he died in an automobile accident at Harbor Springs, Michigan, Weiss had served as chairman of the board, general manager and director of Sterling Products, Inc., president and directorof the Bayer-Semensan Co., director of the American I.G. Chemical Corp. and president of Drug, Inc. He had also founded American Home Products Company.

Weiss was born in Canton. The first Neuralgine was sold in Sistersville, where he was a pharmacist and chemist at Hill Pharmacy. However, the partnership of Weiss and Diebold decided to move to Wheeling, where the Neuralgyline Co. was established with capital of $25,000. The business occupied two small rooms on the second floor of an old building. First-year sales amounted to $10,000.

The partners worked in the plant three days a week to make their product and sold it door-to-door in rented buggies three days a week. Special board meetings were called to make such decisions as hiring a stenographer at $5 a week, the purchase of a safe, and the installation of a telephone.

From such humble beginnings, a drug manufacturing empire was built.

William Weiss was married to Helena Schwertfeger of Wheeling. The couple had a son, William H. Weiss, Jr., and a daughter, Madelyn Elizabeth (Mrs. Henry L. Kinnucan).

William E. Weiss built a summer home in Indian River Michigan at Columbus Beach where they spent a few months a year.
Weiss Family has been very instrumental in the Indian River community and in the preservation of wildlife and nature preserves for decades.

William E. Weiss Jr. of Oyster Bay, NY was the heir to this residents and also where he spent some of his summers. In 1971 W.E. Weiss Jr. and Dusty(wife) moved to Cody Wyoming, where they were important contributors to the Buffalo Bill Historical Center, instrumental in the expansion of the museum’s building and art holdings. W. E. Weiss was was known to have exceptional cars as noted here in the RM Sotherby's Auction (https://www.rmsothebys.com/mo15/monterey/lots/1966-aston-martin-db6-mk-i-shooting-brake-by-radford/1076543). W.E. Weiss Purchased this 1973 Chevrolet Brand New in 1973 and it remained on the property in Indian River, Michigan at Columbus Beach. Stored in a garage, the Blazer was driven on the rare occasions the Weiss family went to the Columbus Beach home. has not been driven in rain or snow its entire life

Primarily kept in Indian River, Michigan at the Columbus Beach residence, until Mr. Weiss’s passing in 1985, it then passed to his son W.D. Weiss of Cody Wyoming. W.D. Weiss Sold|Gifted the Blazer to Arthur Reaume in 1986 with roughly 11,000 miles

Arthur Reaume of Wolverine Mi was the Caretaker for the Weiss's Family Residence at Columbus Beach and continued to work for the family after W.E. Weiss's passing in 1985 for another 20 plus years. Arthur continued the exceptional care and only driving it in dry weather. He put approximately 21,000 miles on it from 1986-1994 when he decided to put it in his garage and store it where it hasn't seen the light of day or weather for over 20 years.

Fast Forward to 2017 today we extracted this unbelievable time capsule from Mr. Reaume's garage and brought it home to Southern California where we commissioned to have the fuel system, brakes, coolant, fluids etc inspected and repaired accordingly.

What you have here in front of you is this lovely original-preservation survivor garage stored Blazer that has not been driven in rain or snow its entire life, and is wholly original, including the original interior, where the entire interior looks incredible. Undoubtedly a very rare first year Square Body Full Convertible Blazer(2 year production) in exception survivor condition, the opportunity to acquire this Blazer is not to be missed.

This 1973 Chevrolet Blazer is presented to you in its original state no "lipstick has been applied. The undercarriage could benefit from a good steam or dry ice blasting, but we have left it original for presentation reasons.
